What we have
  • To design and test your (experimental, prototype or production) system in a representative and relevant environment (TRL 5, 6, 7)?
  • To qualify and certify your product for airborne or aeronautical use (TRL 7, 8, 9)?
  • To modify your aircraft to include new capabilities, features, sensors, actuators, etc.?
  • To design and certify a new type of aircraft?
  • Any support in the airworthiness certification domain?

Extensive capabilities and expertise in the field of airworthiness certification of civil and military aircraft systems, flight simulators, aircraft modifications, or new aircraft developments, both fixed wing, helicopters and UAS. The NLR holds an accredited design organization (a national civil DOA, based on EASA Part21 guidelines, and a national Military Aviation Requirement 21 approval) with specialized design engineers. The designs are verified by independent Compliance Verification Engineers (CVEs). With this NLR supports:

  • Definition and detailing the certification basis and acceptable means of compliance
  • Definition and detailing the certification plan, including the planning and liaison processes
  • (Preliminary) System Safety Assessment
  • Aircraft systems design, including requirements management and traceability
  • Define and detail the certification report, including the gathering of required compliance and substantiating data
  • Verification and Validation
