Project Climate Assessment of Innovative Mitigation Strategies towards Operational Improvements in Aviation - ClimOP
In ClimOP, actions and recommendations are being drawn up for policy makers and regulatory authorities, through the development of mitigation strategies to reduce the climate impact of aviation. These mitigation strategies involve operational improvements in the aviation system at a global scale, for both ground and air operations.
Goals 2022: To determine the impact of the proposed operational improvements on climate and stakeholders. This will be expressed in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); appropriate regulation and policy identified for implementation of the proposed operational improvements.

Project Mitigation Strategies for Airborne Infection Control - MIST
In MIST, research is being conducted into the dispersion of aerosols (1 – 50 micrometres) that are relevant for the spread of viruses and other infectious diseases. The project looks at locations where high concentrations of aerosols can occur, and potential solutions and the efficiency of these.
Goal 2022: To establish the most efficient and sustainable combination of technological and organisational measures for preventing the spread of viruses in the aircraft cabin.

Project FALCO deliverable 2.2
In this project, research is being conducted into increasing the flexibility of the Air Traffic Management (ATM) system, with a view to deploying air traffic controllers more flexibly (in multiple sectors without full unit endorsement) than is currently the case. This may be intra-ATSU, inter-ATSU or inter-ANSP. Both technical and procedural modifications are being explored. Deliverable 2.2 specifically concerns the potential procedural modifications. A document is being drawn up outlining various possible strategies; these will then be implemented in use cases.
Goal 2022: To conduct an experiment in which the NLR use case is applied within a simulation environment.
