class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Concurrerend vermogen van de lucht- en ruimtevaart<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>De integrale aanpak van uitdagingen rondom leefomgeving, bereikbaarheid en duurzaam luchttransport stimuleert het ontstaan van nieuwe producten en markten, die de Nederlandse concurrentiepositie versterken. NLR helpt overheden, de luchtvaartsector en samenleving om luchtvaartoperaties, nu en in de toekomst, concurrerend te laten zijn, en de civiele en militaire luchtvaart en samenleving veiliger te maken.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">De luchtvaartsector staat op het punt van een ingrijpende transformatie, veroorzaakt door zowel een stijgende vraag naar luchtvervoer als de noodzaak voor duurzaamheid. NLR speelt een sleutelrol door middel van baanbrekende innovaties. Het thema competitieve lucht -en ruimtevaart is daarbij nauw verweven met de twee andere strategische thema\u2019s, \u2018Duurzame luchtvaart\u2019 en \u2018Veilige samenleving\u2019. Een belangrijke uitdaging is de overgang naar duurzame luchtvaarttechnologie\u00ebn, met als doel om tegen 2050 klimaatneutraal te vliegen. Emissieloos vliegen blijft technisch uitdagend, maar NLR streeft in ieder geval naar het drastisch verminderen van CO<sub>2<\/sub> -uitstoot via projecten zoals in het programma \u2018Luchtvaart in Transitie\u2019. Dit door het Nationaal Groeifonds gefinancierde programma onderzoekt innovatieve oplossingen voor duurzame luchtvaart en ondersteunt de overgang naar klimaatneutraal vliegen. Binnen dit programma werkt NLR samen met industriepartners, universiteiten en hogescholen om technologische doorbraken te realiseren.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">\u201cNaast waterstof onderzoeken we ook andere duurzame alternatieven\u201d, zegt Bert Thuis, Vice President Aerospace Vehicles NLR. \u201cWe houden alle opties open en werken aan flexibele testfaciliteiten en onderzoeksprogramma\u2019s die ons in staat stellen snel in te spelen op nieuwe technologische ontwikkelingen. De luchtvaart zal schoner en stiller zijn en dus minder invloed hebben op het klimaat en het milieu.
