has-guge-font-size\">Constructie en Fabricage<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>De maatschappij vraagt om een schonere, stillere en veilige luchtvaart. Minder fossiele brandstoffen gebruiken is daarbij een van de grootste uitdagingen. Lucht- en ruimtevaartsystemen zullen daarom ingrijpend moeten veranderen. Die systemen worden ook steeds complexer. Met onze kennis ontwikkelen we de technologische bouwstenen die nodig zijn om nieuwe, effici\u00ebnte lucht- en ruimtevaartuigen te ontwerpen, bouwen en gebruiken.     <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hierbij gaat het onder meer om materiaal- en fabricagetechnologie ten bate van diverse producttypen zoals metalen, composieten en hybride producten, elektronische producten en avionica. We ontwerpen en fabriceren ook windtunnelmodellen van nieuwe vliegtuigvaartuigen. Naast het ontwikkelen van de productietechnologie en het ontwerpen van producten, is het testen en valideren van de producten en het productieproces cruciaal om gecertificeerde productie mogelijk te maken. Het produceren, testen en kwalificeren voeren we uit in onze eigen state-of-the-art faciliteiten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-secondary-10-background-color has-background is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-305db4b7 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\" style=\"padding-right:1.5rem;padding-left:1.5rem\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hoofdlijnen van het onderzoek<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-b0b89ccb\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Metalen, composieten en hybride producten<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Het onderzoek richt zich op de ontwikkeling van ultraeffici\u00ebnte constructieconcepten met behulp van nieuwe materialen en innovatieve fabricage-, assemblage- en deassemblage-technieken. <em>Digital twinning<\/em> en <em>virtual manufacturing<\/em> maken onderdeel uit van de ontwikkelingen, evenals additieve productietechnologie\u00ebn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-b0b89ccb\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Elektronica en avionica<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Op het gebied van elektromagnetische compatibiliteit onderzoeken we de effecten van hogere spanningen en grotere stromen op andere apparatuur en bekabeling. Dit is van belang voor de hoogvermogen-elektronica en -bekabeling, die nodig is in elektrisch of hybride-elektrisch aangedreven, klimaatvriendelijkere vliegtuigen. We onderzoeken de elektromagnetische compatibiliteit, inclusief de effecten op antennes in de constructie. We doen ook onderzoek op het gebied van energiemanagement, dat steeds belangrijker wordt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Avionicasystemen zijn ook een belangrijk onderzoeksgebied, omdat ze een cruciaal onderdeel zijn van moderne civiele en militaire lucht- en ruimtevaartplatformen. Daarnaast zijn ze essentieel bij windtunneltesten en vliegproeven. Het onderzoek naar het correct functioneren van deze elektronische systemen is daarom van groot belang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-b0b89ccb\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Windtunnelmodellen<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>We doen onderzoek naar materiaaltechnologie, sensortechnologie en fabricagetechnieken ten behoeve van zeer geavanceerde windtunnelmodellen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-b0b89ccb\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Testen en kwalificeren<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ons onderzoek richt zich op het ontwikkelen van testmethoden van (nieuwe) materialen en daarop gebaseerde constructies. We onderzoeken elektrochemische processen, brandstofcellen en electrolyzers die gebruikt worden in waterstoftoepassingen. We testen materialen bij zowel extreem lage als bij hoge temperaturen en we ontwikkelen effectieve, niet-destructieve inspectietechnieken voor de onderhouds- en maakindustrie.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:0px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer wp-container-content-62aae154\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Enkele projecten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-text-color has-black-50-color has-alpha-channel-opacity has-black-50-background-color has-background\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-content-justification-left is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-12dd3699 wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text alignwide has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile is-vertically-aligned-center\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 40%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">TRAIL<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NLR heeft werkzaamheden uitgevoerd voor het TRAIL-project (Design, manufacture and deliver a high performance, low cost, low weight Nacelle Structure for Next Generation Tilt-Rotor), waarin een lichtgewicht en hoogwaardige nacelle-structuur voor de volgende generatie tiltrotor-toestellen werd ontwikkeld. Hierbij werd een schaalmodel van een complexe nacelle-structuur gemaakt met behulp van vacu\u00fcminjectie en 3D-geprinte mallen, waarmee de haalbaarheid van twee innovatieve technologie\u00ebn werd aangetoond. Daarnaast heeft NLR met mechanische tests aangetoond dat een innovatieve lichtgewicht aerogel-oplossing de hittebestendigheid van composietmaterialen aanzienlijk kan verbeteren, met name bij eenzijdige blootstelling aan hoge temperaturen. Voor LPBF is een uitgebreid testprogramma opgezet om de mechanische eigenschappen te bepalen, waarna 198 proefstukken bij NLR zijn geproduceerd. De mechanische tests zijn uitgevoerd door de kennispartners van Garteur. Daarnaast zijn verschillende warmtebehandelingen ge\u00ebvalueerd, waarbij de selectie van de meest geschikte warmtebehandeling heeft plaatsgevonden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De verwerking van hoge sterkte aluminium legeringen met DED is een nieuwe en uitdagende ontwikkeling. Om deze techniek te onderzoeken, zijn dunne wandjes en blokjes met verschillende procesparameters geproduceerd. Om de optimale parameters te selecteren, zijn de porositeit, dimensies en ruwheid van deze onderdelen gemeten. Hierbij is onder andere onderzocht hoe twee-fasen gepompte koelsystemen (two-phase pumped cooling systems) kunnen worden ingepast en geoptimaliseerd in vliegtuigconcepten en specifieke toepassingen zoals fuel cell thermal control en high power electronics thermal control. Ook is onderzoek gedaan naar de optimale inpassing van Vapour Cycle Systemen (VCS) en mogelijke combinaties met twee-fasen gepompte koelsystemen. De stationaire en dynamische modellen voor twee-fasen gepompte koelsystemen zijn modulair gemaakt zodat deze modellen effectiever en efficienter kunnen worden gebruikt voor trade-off analyses en implementatie in platformmodellen. Verder is een gecombineerd model van een Vapour Cycle System (VCS) en een twee-fasen gepompte koelsysteem gerealiseerd zodat de combinatie kan worden geoptimaliseerd.<\/p>\n<\/div><figure
