Het NLR Drone Centre in Marknesse beschikt over een eigen gesloten luchtruim, met alle benodigde vergunningen en ontheffingen om deze activiteiten volledig te faciliteren. Het biedt ontwikkelaars, fabrikanten en zakelijke gebruikers, zowel civiel als militair, de mogelijkheid om noodzakelijke testvluchten uit te voeren, om te profiteren van de kansen die UAS-ontwikkelingen bieden.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NLR doet zelf onderzoek naar nieuwe operationele procedures en toepassingen voor onbemande luchtvaart en ontwikkelt onbemande luchtvaartuigen ten behoeve van onderzoeksprogramma\u2019s. Hieronder vallen ook grote toestellen en toestellen met een experimenteel karakter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-style-default has-black-5-background-color has-background is-layout-constrained wp-container-core-group-is-layout-24567ffd wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"padding-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-bottom:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Belangrijkste kenmerken<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Gesloten luchtruim<\/strong><br>Alleen vliegtuigen en piloten die aan alle wettelijke eisen voldoen, mogen in het Nederlandse luchtruim vliegen. Het NLR Drone Centre kent een ruimere ontheffing: het is bijvoorbeeld toegestaan om met prototypes te vliegen die nog niet aan alle eisen voldoen. Het luchtruim boven het NLR Drone Centre is gesloten voor andere gebruikers en ook het grondgebied is een verboden en afgesloten gebied. Hiermee wordt voldaan aan een grote behoefte aan drone-ontwikkeling en de technologie die daarvoor nodig is, zoals detect-and-avoid-sensorendie voorkomen dat drones te dicht bij ander luchtverkeer komen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-with-arrow\">\n<li>Gesloten luchtruim EHR66 (0 tot 1500 ft \/ 3500 ft) met permanente BVLOS en luchthavenvoorzieningen<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Landingsbaan van 325 x 15 m<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DigiCIty: een operationeel gesimuleerde stedelijke omgeving (16 zeecontainers in flexibele opstellingen)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>NLR beschikt over een gevarieerde luchtvloot van meer dan 30 &nbsp;drones, meestal in eigen beheer ontworpen of gebouwd die worden of werden gebruikt voor onderzoeksprojecten:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-with-arrow\">\n<li>Vastvleugel toestellen van 1 tot 150kg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Helikopters (hoofdrotor met staartrotor) van 5 tot 100kg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multirotor systemen van 1 tot 60kg<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hybride vastvleugel-multirotor toestellen tot 25kg<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical
