Na het eerste succesvolle Metal Additive Manufacturing-programma biedt Koninklijke NLR nu een vervolgprogramma aan om deelnemers te ondersteunen in hun ambitie om gecertificeerde metaal-AM-onderdelen op de markt te brengen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een nieuw vierjarig programma voor Additive Manufacturing-technologie (AM) is van start gegaan in het Metal Additive Manufacturing Technology Centre (MAMTeC) van NLR in Marknesse. NLR werkt samen met een consortium van partners aan de certificering van kritieke metaal-AM-componenten. Het nieuwe programma is een vervolg op het succesvolle eerste Metal Additive Manufacturing-programma dat van 2015 tot 2018 liep en was gericht op de <em>laser powder bed fusion<\/em>-methode (L-PBF). Voor het nieuwe programma wordt het MAMTeC uitgebreid met een BeAM Modulo 400-machine die speciaal is bedoeld voor het vervaardigen en repareren van onderdelen volgens het Directed Energy Deposition-proces (DED).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"NLR MAMTeC expands with a new BeAM machine\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4endsAXRrHI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Het nieuwe programma richt zich op de certificering van kritieke AM-componenten voor toepassingen binnen bijvoorbeeld de lucht- en ruimtevaartsector, olie- en gassector, hightechsector, defensie en auto-industrie. Vooral deze markten profiteren sterk van het lagere gewicht, de betere prestaties en de hogere effici\u00ebntie die metaal-AM kan bieden. Er is een gekwalificeerd en stabiel fabricageproces nodig om aan de strenge certificeringseisen te voldoen. Daarom vormt onderzoek naar de toepassing van systemen voor in-situ-procesmonitoring een belangrijk onderdeel van het programma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een ander belangrijk onderdeel van het programmawerk is gericht op de simulatie van het metaal-AM-proces (virtuele fabricage) voor zowel L-PBF als DED om inzicht te krijgen in het temperatuurprofiel tijdens verwerking. Hierdoor kunnen de restspanningen in het AM-product worden voorspeld en kan een optimale AM-productieaanpak worden ontwikkeld.
