Deze <em>cutting-edge<\/em> faciliteit is de eerste ter wereld die nauwkeurige metingen mogelijk maakt van rollende en luchtweerstand van grotere voertuigen in overeenstemming met de Europese verplichte Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gelegen in Marknesse bij de DNW-LLF (Large Low speed Facility), Europa&#8217;s grootste windtunnel, is de Automotive Test Section (ATS) het resultaat van een significante investering door de Duitse en Nederlandse regeringen als reactie op strengere emissieregels. De faciliteit zal een cruciale rol spelen bij het ondersteunen van de ontwikkeling van meer duurzame voertuigen en bijdragen aan de klimaatdoelen die door beide regeringen zijn gesteld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Milieueisen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Door de controverse in de media en de politiek die ontstond rondom de manipulatie van het verbrandingsgedrag van dieselmotoren (dieselgate), zijn de eisen en methoden voor het testen van nieuwe voertuigen voor goedkeuring, evenals het monitoren van voertuigen in gebruik, verscherpt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tot 1 september 2017 werden alle auto&#8217;s getest met de NEDC (New European Driving Cycle)-methode. In de praktijk is gebleken dat de NEDC-resultaten te veel afweken van het daadwerkelijke verbruik. Daarom is de WLTP ingevoerd in Europa. WLTP staat voor Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure en is een testmethodologie die wordt gebruikt om nauwkeurig de aerodynamische en rollende weerstand te meten, waarmee de uitlaatemissies van een voertuig betrouwbaar kunnen worden afgeleid. De testmethodologie houdt niet alleen rekening met verschillende situaties en snelheden, maar ook met optionele uitrusting en het gewichtsklasse van een voertuig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De meting wordt uitgevoerd tijdens de typegoedkeuring van een voertuig om te controleren of het voldoet aan de van toepassing zijnde emissienormen. Vanaf 1 september 2018 is de WLTP-norm verplicht voor alle nieuwe personenauto&#8217;s in de Europese Unie, en vanaf 1 september 2019 voor commerci\u00eble voertuigen. De WLTP-regels zijn niet alleen verplicht voor personenauto&#8217;s, maar ook voor bestelwagens en lichte trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De DNW ATS is niet alleen uniek qua formaat, maar ook omdat het een uitwisselbare testsectie is. Het complete systeem kan uit de windtunnelcircuit worden verwijderd. Het gewicht van ongeveer 400 ton was een ontwerp- en logistieke uitdaging die comfortabel werd overwonnen. De ATS kan binnen minder dan een dag worden uitgewisseld. Het systeem is gecertificeerd voor WLTP-metingen en CE door de Duitse T\u00dcV en het Kraftfahrt-Bundesambt (KBA) en is nu volledig operationeel en beschikbaar voor de industrie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cross-sectorale testcentrum MITC<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De ATS is de eerste faciliteit die is gerealiseerd als onderdeel van het Mobility Infrastructure and Test Centre (MITC), een uniek cross-sectoraal testcentrum dat ook een nieuwe testbaan voor de Nederlandse Voertuigautoriteit RDW en een politieopleidingscentrum zal omvatten. Dit zal Marknesse vestigen als een toonaangevend kennis- en testcentrum voor slimme en duurzame mobiliteit, waar voertuigen en vliegtuigen van de toekomst zullen worden ontwikkeld en getest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;De ATS is een voorbeeld van succesvolle Europese samenwerking, gebouwd op de bijna 50-jarige geschiedenis van samenwerking tussen de Duitse en Nederlandse lucht- en ruimtevaartindustrie&#8221;, aldus Michel Peters, CEO van Royal NLR. &#8220;Door expertise uit de luchtvaartsector toe te passen op de auto-industrie, drijft DNW innovatie en groene groei&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Volgens mevrouw Anke Kayser-Pyzalla, voorzitter van de Raad van Bestuur van DLR, &#8220;is deze ontwikkeling een goed voorbeeld van hoe synergie en transferpotentieel binnen DNW wordt gebruikt om mobiliteit toekomstbestendig te maken.
