De Europese Commissie streeft naar een ambitieuzer doel van 75% reductie van CO2-emissies per passagierskilometer. Alternatieve brandstoffen zoals vloeibaar waterstof (LH2) worden gezien als een centrale rolspeler in een toekomst zonder emissies voor de luchtvaart. Om cryogene (20 K) vloeibare waterstof in een vliegtuig op te slaan, voert het COCOLIH2T-project onderzoek en tests uit voor het ontwerp, de productie en het testen van opslagtanks voor nieuwe en bestaande vliegtuigontwerpen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De uitdaging<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-with-arrow\">\n<li>Ontwerp, fabricage en demonstratie van een full-scale composiet conformale opslagtank voor vloeibaar waterstof op TRL4-niveau.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Capaciteit van de LH2-tank: 57 kg LH2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Zwaartekrachtfactor: > 25%<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geen liner<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ventilatiesnelheid: &lt; 2% per dag<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Subsystemen voor meting, bijtanken en monitoring van de structurele integriteit voor veilige werking. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#eff5fb\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De oplossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-with-arrow\">\n<li>Voer materiaaltests uit bij 20 K, permeabiliteitstests en microscheuronderzoeken om een geschikt composietmateriaal te selecteren.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ontwerp een binnen- en buitenste tank, inclusief slangen en kleppen, voor veilig bijtanken en aftanken. De ontwerpen moeten in staat zijn om interne drukken te weerstaan als gevolg van kookverlies, vlucht- en golflasten.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ontwerp en test sensoren om LH2-niveaus, H2-lekkage, vacu\u00fcm- en drukniveaus te monitoren.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Fabriceer alle individuele onderdelen en monteer ze in 2 demonstratoren.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Test 2 full-scale demonstratoren met LH2 om de eisen op TRL4-niveau te valideren.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat hebben we gedaan?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-f0342b05 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: inherit; background-color: var(--wp--preset--color--white); font-weight: inherit;\">In samenwerking met de projectpartners heeft NLR een initieel ontwerp gemaakt van een thermoplastische composiet conformale tank die past in een ATR-72. Om de statische materiaaleigenschappen bij 20 K te bepalen, voerde NLR een statische testcampagne uit in hun cryostaat. Een permeabiliteitstest werd ontwikkeld en microscheuren werden onderzocht. De twee demonstratoren, die door projectpartners gefabriceerd zullen worden, zullen <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>getest worden met grote hoeveelheden vloeibaar waterstof in NLR&#8217;s recent gebouwde Energy to Propulsion Test Facility (EPTF). Testopstellingen worden ontworpen en gefabriceerd door NLR om de vereiste tests uit te voeren om het ontwerp en de sloshingmodellen te valideren.
