Dit is een opmaat naar een duurzame luchtvaart. Daarnaast zullen hierdoor ook commerci\u00eble partijen spoedig kunnen volgen om in Nederland veilig met drones op waterstof te vliegen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Op het testcentrum in Marknesse heeft het Koninklijk Nederlands Lucht- en Ruimtevaartcentrum (NLR) een, op waterstof aangedreven drone, in het luchtruim laten vliegen. De Nederlandse primeur in de buitenlucht biedt extra inzichten in het onderzoek naar en ontwikkeling van alternatieve brandstoffen voor een duurzame luchtvaart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Martin Nagelsmit, programmamanager Elektrisch vliegen: \u201cDe drone heeft een vermogen van 2 kW. De volgende geplande stap om op waterstof te vliegen is een stuk groter: 15 kW. Uiteindelijk streeft NLR ernaar dat uiterlijk in 2070, de luchtvaart emissievrij is. De aandrijving op waterstof kan daarin een grote rol spelen. Dat maken we nu dus eerst mogelijk voor drones. Daarnaast tonen we hiermee een concrete stap voor de afspraken die de luchtvaartsector met het plan &#8216;Slim &amp; Duurzaam&#8217; heeft gemaakt om de CO2-uitstoot in 2030 met 35% te verminderen en de afspraken in het ontwerpakkoord duurzame luchtvaart.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Na het uitvoeren van verschillende testen zal NLR zijn bevindingen delen met andere partijen zodat ook zij op kort termijn vluchten kunnen uitvoeren. De Marine is bijvoorbeeld bezig met de ontwikkeling van een waterstofdrone voor vluchten boven zee en vanwege de nauwe samenwerking met DroneHub Groningen Airport Eelde zal ook hun drone binnenkort door NLR gekeurd kunnen worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Vliegen op waterstof<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bij deze eerste vlucht ging het om een drone \u2013 formeel: Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) \u2013 van acht kilogram met zes propellers en voorzien van een hogedruktank (300 bar) van twee liter gevuld met waterstofgas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De tank staat in verbinding met een brandstofcel die een elektrochemisch proces op gang brengt. In dat proces wordt waterstof samen met zuurstof uit de lucht omgezet in elektrische energie. Die zorgt ervoor dat de drone op een (lokaal) CO2-neutrale manier kan vliegen. Het enige restproduct is waterdamp.<br>Een ander groot voordeel van waterstof is dat de drone met een volle tank beduidend langer kan vliegen dan alleen met een batterij.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Veilig vliegen met drones<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In het Nederlands luchtruim mag in principe alleen worden gevlogen met toestellen en door vliegers die voldoen aan alle wettelijke eisen. NLR heeft eind 2015 het Netherlands RPAS Test Centre (NRTC) opgezet met ruimere bevoegdheden: een eigen luchtruim met de benodigde beschikkingen en ontheffingen om met prototypes te vliegen die nog niet aan alle eisen voldoen. Het luchtruim en het grondgebied zijn afgesloten terreinen. De waterstofdrone is experimenteel gekeurd en NLR-piloten mogen ermee vliegen zonder een \u2018Speciaal Bewijs van Luchtwaardigheid\u2019 (S-BvL).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"--nlr--note--offset: 0px;\" class=\"wp-block-sowmedia-note align wp-block-sowmedia-note\" id=\"block_51c13cadbf050e45cc1329f7bcd7e692\">\n\n    <div class=\"note__inner\">\n\n        <div class=\"note__handle\"><\/div>\n\n        <div class=\"note__content\">\n\n<p><strong>Meer informatie<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>kijk op onze&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlr.nl\/dronecentre\/\">website<\/a> over het Drone Centre.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n    <\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n<p>Een gedegen veiligheidsanalyse heeft er o.a. toe geleid de drone te voorzien van een back-up voor de waterstofaandrijving. Indien er sprake zou zijn van vermogensverlies kan een batterij automatisch bijspringen.
