Drie testcampagnes zijn gepland voor oktober 2025, januari 2026 en mei 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De uitdaging<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het AESA-radarsysteem moet getest worden op een representatief platform, in samenwerking met verschillende doelwitten in realistische scenario&#8217;s, zoals boten, auto&#8217;s en andere vliegtuigen. Voordat de vluchttesten uitgevoerd kunnen worden, moeten er echter eerst enkele uitdagingen worden overwonnen:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>De grootte en het gewicht van het systeem vormen een uitdaging vanwege de beperkte ruimte in de PH-LAB, met name in de neussectie.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aanpassingen zijn nodig om de unieke luchtkoeling van de radar te accommoderen, omdat conventionele AESA-systemen een combinatie van lucht- en waterkoeling gebruiken.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#eff5fb\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De oplossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NLR heeft een Cessna Citation II-vliegtuig als testplatform in gebruik onder goedkeuring van RADO (<em>Research Aircraft Design Organisation<\/em>). Hierdoor is het mogelijk om modificaties van de AESA-radar in het vliegtuig te integreren en certificeren. Door de uitgebreide ervaring met vluchttesten en een bewezen staat van dienst op het gebied van samenwerking met andere platforms, kan NLR operationeel relevante vluchttestscenarios bieden. Bovendien heeft NLR cruciale ontwerpuitdagingen succesvol aangepakt door mechanische versterkingen in de neus van het vliegtuig aan te brengen en geforceerde luchtkoeling te implementeren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-16089\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-2048x1365.jpg 2048w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/NLR_2024_091_03-1320x880.jpg 1320w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat hebben we gedaan\/Wat gaan we doen?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-f0342b05 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: inherit; background-color: var(--wp--preset--color--white); font-weight: inherit;\">Door eerder aangebrachte versterkingen kon het NLR-team het radarsysteem in de neus van de PH-LAB integreren. Hierdoor is het mogelijk om de prestaties van het systeem optimaal te testen tijdens de vluchten in combinatie met <em>cooperative targets<\/em>.
