De fabriek produceert composietlandingsgestelonderdelen en ontwikkelt tegelijkertijd nieuwe productietechnieken voor hoogwaardige composieten. Andere high-techbedrijven die composieten ontwikkelen, kunnen de faciliteit ook gebruiken om hun materialen te testen en productieprocessen te automatiseren.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De ACM Pilot Plant wordt algemeen beschouwd als een belangrijke stap in de ontwikkeling van expertkennis over composieten. Composieten vervangen steeds vaker stalen of aluminium onderdelen in de luchtvaartindustrie; bovendien zijn composieten vaak sterker, duurzamer, goedkoper en kunnen ze op een breed scala van gebieden worden toegepast. De ACM Pilot Plant zal beginnen met de verdere robotisering van de productie van composietlandingsgestelonderdelen. In een bredere context zal de fabriek zich richten op de productie van composieten versterkt met industri\u00eble harsen, waarvoor de fabriek is uitgerust met ultramoderne apparatuur, waaronder een van de grootste robotische composietvezelvlechtmachines in Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The Automated Composite Manufacturing Pilot Plant\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3qXgmrGBnbs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Samenwerking met industrie en MKB<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De ACM Pilot Plant staat ook open voor andere bedrijven die hun composieten op grote schaal willen produceren, inclusief bedrijven die actief zijn buiten de luchtvaartsector. De unieke kennis en faciliteiten op de NLR-locatie in Flevoland zijn ideaal geschikt voor het ontwikkelen van de meest (kosten-)effici\u00ebnte productiemethoden. Het is vaak precies deze laatste stap &#8211; tussen een prototype en het lanceren van het product &#8211; die zo moeilijk blijkt te zijn bij het brengen van innovaties op de markt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Partners<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De faciliteit werd in 2015 opgericht en is voortgekomen uit een publiek-private samenwerking tussen Fokker Landing Gear en NLR-Nederlands Lucht- en Ruimtevaartcentrum, in nauwe samenwerking met het Ministerie van Economische Zaken, de provincie Flevoland en de gemeente Noordoostpolder. Op de Pilot Plant &#8211; die een oppervlakte van ongeveer 500m2 beslaat &#8211; zijn hooggespecialiseerde automatiseringsexperts en operators bezig met het automatiseren, optimaliseren en duurzaam maken van de productieprocessen.
