Dergelijke gebeurtenissen vormen een potentieel veiligheidsrisico voor het luchtverkeer en zetten de effici\u00ebntie van de huidige luchtverkeersleidingsprocessen onder druk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De uitdaging<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het is moeilijk om een specifieke en exacte waarschuwing te geven voor de verwachte terugkeer van een ruimteobject. Het is immers moeilijk om de precieze tijd en locatie van het herintreden in het luchtruim te voorspellen. In dit onderzoek is gekeken naar manieren waarop de luchtverkeersleiding moet omgaan met de ongecontroleerde terugkeer van objecten uit de ruimte. In de studie is een <em>use-case<\/em>-scenario gecre\u00eberd waarin een terugkerend ruimteobject kort voor het verwachte intreden in het Nederlandse luchtruim boven de luchthaven Amsterdam Schiphol wordt gedetecteerd, een van de drukste luchthavens van Europa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#eff5fb\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De oplossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Uit <a href=\"https:\/\/reports.nlr.nl\/handle\/10921\/1908\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">de resultaten<\/a> blijkt dat een gestructureerde aanpak die bestaat uit verbeterde middelen voor het volgen van ruimteobjecten en vooraf gedefinieerde risicogebieden de veiligheid en effici\u00ebntie tijdens ongecontroleerde terugkeer van ruimteobjecten aanzienlijk kan verbeteren. Daarnaast kan gezamenlijke besluitvorming tussen de luchtverkeersleiding en stakeholders in de ruimteoperaties bijdragen aan verbetering. Het doel was om mogelijke operationele reacties binnen de beperkte tijdspanne van herintrede te onderzoeken. Zo werden bijvoorbeeld vluchten van vliegtuigen ingedeeld in getroffen en niet-getroffen groepen om prioritering te vergemakkelijken.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daardoor kregen vliegtuigen die het meeste risico liepen of door operationele behoeften beperkt werden, onmiddellijke aandacht. Bovendien wees de studie uit dat het belangrijk is om <em>controllers<\/em> te voorzien van visualisatiehulpmiddelen die het voorspelde impactgebied en de onzekerheidszone en tijdsvenster weergeven.
