Samen met Fokker Aerostructures onderzoekt NLR hoe onderdelen van de romp op een slimmere manier kunnen worden gebruikt, door er functies aan toe te voegen. Zo kan er bijvoorbeeld een beamforming-antenne in worden ingebouwd<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De uitdaging<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Vermindering van de luchtweerstand van vliegtuigen is een belangrijk aspect voor schoner luchtvervoer. Tot nu toe worden satellietantennes bovenop het vliegtuig geplaatst, in grote uitstekende radomes. Binnen het ACASIAS-project onderzoekt Koninklijke NLR de mogelijkheden om antennes in de structuur te integreren om een gladdere buitenschil te cre\u00ebren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"430\" src=\"https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/acasias_optical-beam-forming-1030x433-1-1024x430.jpg\" alt=\"Optical beam forming\" class=\"wp-image-2411\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/acasias_optical-beam-forming-1030x433-1-1024x430.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/acasias_optical-beam-forming-1030x433-1-300x126.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/acasias_optical-beam-forming-1030x433-1-768x323.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/acasias_optical-beam-forming-1030x433-1.jpg 1030w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group alignwide has-background is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\" style=\"background-color:#eff5fb\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De oplossing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>NLR en de ACASIAS-partners hebben nieuwe beamforming Ku-band antennes ontwikkeld, maar ook nieuwe composietstructuren met ge\u00efntegreerde antennes. Het ACASIAS-romppaneel wordt gemaakt met een fibre-placementmachine, waarbij gebruik wordt gemaakt van koolstofvezelprepreg. NLR heeft het productieproces van dunne verstijvingen geoptimaliseerd, zodat er geen dikteopbouw plaatsvindt. In het midden van het paneel wordt glasvezelprepreg gebruikt om een transparante huid voor de interne antennes te cre\u00ebren. Op deze manier kunnen antennes aan de binnenkant van het vliegtuig worden geplaatst in plaats van bovenop, en wordt de totale luchtweerstand van het vliegtuig verminderd.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat doen wij?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-f0342b05 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\" style=\"margin-top:0;margin-bottom:0\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>NLR heeft het productieproces van dunne verstijvingen geoptimaliseerd. Bij de kruisingen in de rasterstructuur wordt de helft van de banden in de ene richting gesneden en de andere helft in de tegenovergestelde, zodat er geen dikteopbouw plaatsvindt. In het midden van het paneel wordt glasvezelprepreg gebruikt om een transparante huid voor de interne antennes te cre\u00ebren. Het complete paneel wordt op een vrouwelijke mal in een autoclaaf uitgehard bij hoge temperatuur en druk. Om de verstijvingen tijdens dit proces te ondersteunen, werden geen arbeidsintensieve gereedschappen gebruikt. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:10px\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>In plaats van een groot aantal steunblokken, zoals meestal gebruikelijk is, is een siliconenzak ontwikkeld. De siliconenzak heeft hetzelfde patroon als het uiteindelijke paneel met verstijvingen. Op deze manier werd een betaalbaar paneel gemaakt met ge\u00efntegreerde verstijvingen.
