
3D printcompass
NLR is participating in the 3D Printkompas project, which aims to position the Northern Netherlands as the leading 3D printing region of the Netherlands by 2030. The project receives a contribution of €3 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), including €999,400 co-financing from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ).
Objectives
- Encourage the development of 3D printing technology
- Strengthening the regional economy
- Promoting sustainable innovation
- Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the application of 3D printing technology
The project comprises the following activities:
- Further development of technologies such as cold spray, cryogenic printing and 3D electronics
- Qualification and certification of printed parts
- Investment in shared regional 3D facilities and new educational modules
- Low-threshold access to knowledge, facilities and support for SMEs
