Our goals
Our aim is for each and every one of our colleagues to feel seen and valued at NLR; they must get the opportunity to develop and apply their knowledge, talents and skills in a socially safe working environment. Every person here matters. We are convinced that teams with a diverse makeup perform better. We have a Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) core team that is responsible for implementing the D&I policy. The team works closely with an internal network of D&I ambassadors – members of staff who are actively committed to an inclusive and diverse working environment.
Diversity among the staff makes us better able to have an impact on our customers and stakeholders, our employees and society. People educated in various fields, with differing backgrounds and ambitions, bring in a variety of types of knowledge, experience and ways of thinking. A diverse and inclusive team is better at sharing knowledge and perspectives, which improves the team’s innovative and creative performance and the project results. It is important that our employees feel connected with each other and feel safe.

Gender equality at NLR
The Netherlands Aerospace Centre (NLR) recognises the importance of gender equality in research. For NLR, gender equality is not merely a goal within our research activities: for us, gender equality is part of the general way we approach diversity, inclusivity and equality.
