3D printcompass

NLR is participating in the 3D Printkompas project, which aims to position the Northern Netherlands as the leading 3D printing region of the Netherlands by 2030. The project receives a contribution of €3 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), including €999,400 co-financing from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ).

Objectives

  • Encourage the development of 3D printing technology
  • Strengthening the regional economy
  • Promoting sustainable innovation
  • Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the application of 3D printing technology

The project comprises the following activities:

  • Further development of technologies such as cold spray, cryogenic printing and 3D electronics
  • Qualification and certification of printed parts
  • Investment in shared regional 3D facilities and new educational modules
  • Low-threshold access to knowledge, facilities and support for SMEs
