Testing the complexity of a tiltrotor
The next generation of rotary-wing platforms is being developed to meet the challenges of civil mobility demands, providing increased speed, range and productivity to bridge the gap between conventional helicopters and fixed-wing platforms. The novelty and increased complexity of these platforms demand a great deal of testing. This is where the ATILLA project comes into play with its unique and complex tiltrotor wind tunnel testbed.

R&D case: Aircraft Noise Reduction Technologies and Related Environmental Impact (ARTEM)
In recent years, improving energy efficiency (i.e. fuel consumption) and emission reduction have led to increased engine sizes and bypass ratios. These modifications create a crucial noise issue due to the emission of low-frequency noise and the size and effectiveness limitations of the current noise-absorbing structures (liners).
