Personal Data Protection

NLR is committed to user privacy.

The policy on the processing of personal data by NLR is based on REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL of 27 April 2016 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2000.

In these cases:

  • A controller determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data and ensures the conformity with data protection rules;
  • At NLR, the compliance with the Regulation is monitored and controllers and data subjects are advised on their respective responsibilities and rights.

We will not sell, distribute or lease your personal information to third parties.

Handling of data collected from e-subscriptions via the website

NLR registers and manages the subscriptions to its Newsletter in house.

Logged information and use of cookies on the NLR website

Visits to the NLR website are logged. The information logs are used solely with the aim to better understand how people use the site. Analysis is performed with various tools, including Google analytics and SNOOBI Analytics. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your personal computer or on your mobile device when you visit a website. There are different types of cookies which are used for different purposes, including making the website work more efficiently (i.e. by remembering settings or information you have given) and helping NLR in understanding how the website is used.

Hereunder more information on the cookies used on the NLR website and why:

Google Analytics cookies

Google analytics cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our site. Google analytics cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the site, where visitors to the site come from and the pages they visit. Please note that this information is rendered anonymous by means of suppressing part of the IP digit code. This feature was designed by Google to help site owners to comply with privacy policies, as it prevents the storage of full IP address information.

SNOOBI Analytics cookies

SNOOBI Analytics cookies are also used to collect information about how visitors use our site. NLR uses the information to compile reports and to help us improve the site.

SessionID cookie

The purpose of the SessionID cookie is to uniquely identify a user associated to the session. The cookie-related information is not used to identify you personally.

YouTube cookies

Some videos available on the NLR website are embedded from NLR’s official YouTube channel. YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode is enabled: this means that YouTube will not set cookies for a user who views a web page that contains a privacy-enhanced YouTube embed video player, but does not click on the video to begin playback. Moreover, the application of the privacy-enhanced mode implies that YouTube will not store personally-identifiable cookie information for playbacks of embedded videos.

Control of cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
