Converting knowledge into value

As an institution for applied research, we play a central role in the process of converting knowledge into value. Our aim is for the results of our research to be applied in society and the economy, making a tangible impact. The impact report features several articles that provide an overview of our prominent research from 2023 and 2024.

NLR acts as a hub between science, industry, and government in the field of aerospace, both domestically and internationally, bridging the gap between fundamental research and practical applications. Furthermore, we collaborate with the TO2 federation on applied research in the Netherlands.

Impact report 2024

The Impact Report offers a clear and concise overview of the projects NLR undertook in 2024. The 17 featured projects were carefully selected from the NLR research plan, ensuring a balance across our three strategic themes.

To provide a comprehensive view, the articles also explain how each project aligns with government policy. For instance, connections to the Integral Knowledge and Innovation Agenda (IKIA) for ‘Climate and Energy’ are highlighted, including references to the relevant mission and multi-year innovation programme (mission/MMIP number).
