TO2 Magazine cover

The latest edition of TO2MORROW has been published. Since 2016, the magazine has presented notable outcomes from the research and collaboration of the five Dutch TO2 institutions for applied research. It’s an accessible impact report in which Deltares, MARIN, NLR, TNO and WUR demonstrate how we help businesses innovate and develop solutions to major societal challenges.

As in previous years, this anniversary edition once again offers a wide range of impressive examples that show how the Netherlands benefits daily from turning scientific ideas into practical applications.

For instance, on page 18 you can read how TNO, NLR and MARIN are working together to make our armed forces more self-sufficient and less vulnerable in times of crisis—through solutions ranging from solar panels on military camps to sustainable kerosene for fighter jets and clean fuels for naval vessels. Or turn to page 42 to learn how NLR’s Future Force Design team supports the Ministry of Defence in strategically securing and optimally managing Dutch airspace, thereby strengthening our national security.

A crucial link

The TO2 federation operates under the supervision of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZ). We are proud that Minister Vincent Karremans emphasises our societal relevance in the foreword to this new edition. Together, we are working towards a safer, healthier and more sustainable Netherlands—with tangible benefits for all.

The TO2 institutes form the link between knowledge and innovative impact, serving government, industry and society. We help companies innovate successfully and contribute to solutions for the major challenges of today and tomorrow.
