NLR’s research infrastructure comprises a diverse range of facilities and equipment, forming the
foundation of our applied research. Our state-of-the-art facilities are accessible to companies and
other research institutions, allowing for collaborative innovation. In this brochure we present a modest
part of our extensive facilities for aviation, defence and space applications with which we can support
your research projects and R&D activities.

The Amsterdam Space Symposium 2026 will take place on 3-4 March at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam, marking the first international space conference to be held in The Netherlands. Approval of NLR’s research plan and funding for key facilities

NLR’s research plan for 2026 was recently formally approved. This plan outlines NLR’s planned knowledge development for 2026 and gives concrete shape to the NLR Strategic Plan 2026–2029. In addition, funding has been allocated for three important NLR facilities.

When the going gets tough

With great anticipation, I look forward to the Tweede Kamer elections on 29 October. Even the ballot paper itself is impressive, with over a thousand candidates spread across 27 parties. The political debate is dominated by a wide range of themes, with opinions often poles apart. This also applies within the field of Royal NLR - Netherlands Aerospace Centre. Should Lelystad Airport remain open for both defence and civil aviation, or should it remain closed for commercial flights? And how do we make aviation more sustainable - and who will foot the bill? These are just a few examples of the many ambitions outlined in party manifestos.

Resilience Week: NLR and TNO join forces for a safer future

From cyber attacks to espionage, from disinformation to disrupting vital infrastructure – the Netherlands is being tested on its resilience more and more often. Today's security issues are complex and affect all sectors. Cooperation is not a choice, but a necessity. That is why NLR and TNO are organising the Resilience Week from 27 to 31 October: a joint initiative that raises awareness amongst employees of their role in strengthening national resilience.
