Embedded Combat Aircraft Training Systems (E-CATS); innovative and cost-saving system for tactical training of fighter pilots with provisions for future 'Live Virtual Constructive' solutions

As part of the Smart Bandits project, the NLR is working on 'computer-generated enemies'. In this four-year project, the NLR aims to equip these virtual opponents with more 'intelligence', making training for combat pilots more realistic. The goal is for these 'Smart Bandits' to act as fully-fledged opponents in various training scenarios in the future.
