IMAV stands for ‘International Micro Air Vehicle Conference and Flight Competition’ which was held 12 – 15 September in ‘t Harde (The Netherlands). IMAV is organized by the Delft University of Technology, D-CIS Lab and Thales.

IMAV is an annual multi-day event consisting of a conference and an indoor and outdoor racing competition for Micro Air Vehicles (MAVs). The focus of the competition is to include the use of multiple MAVs and autonomy. The team in which NLR was involved, came third.

From NLR, a (Safety) Pilot was present to guide the KLPD (National Police Services Agency) with the deployment of a Falcon 8 (Octocopter), an unmanned system with eight engines. KLPD is doing research on the Falcon 8 to determine how and where they can deploy these systems operational.
