Last Thursday, the first meeting of ‘SpacePoort’ (Space Gate’) was held in Nieuwspoort (The Hague). SpacePoort is an initiative of four space spokesmen from the Dutch Lower House and some of the space-related organisations in the Netherlands, including NLR. During this first meeting the importance of space for the Netherlands was thoroughly discussed with a view to future cuts.
Furthermore, during this meeting a movie (Dutch only) shown was shown about the social value of space. It shows from different angles that everybody, whether consciously or not, is engaged in aerospace.
